I wouldn't want to drink from a 2 qt pot, but that is probably better than the mug I put down.

ooh, interesting. for the region in which we live. hmm?

    lemme see.....

gransfors bruks small forest axe (on my short list to purchase)
ontario blackbird sk-5 (already own this knife; it is awesome!)
100 ft of paracord (have plenty of this already)
12 x 12 waterproof tarp (have a smaller one, but i really want a bigger one)
zebra billy pot (another item on my short list)
large spool of fishing line w/about 20 hooks (have plenty of this, too)
ferro rod and striker (have a few of these, but i'd really like a large one; like maybe .5" x 6")
leatherman super tool 300 (already own this)
wool blanket (another item on my list)
mmss bag (or military modular sleep system. yet another item on my list) - it doesn't get near as cold here during the winter as most other places in the country. and all i used to use when i was a boy scout was a simple sleeping bag, long underwear, and a pup tent for sleeping at night when we went camping in the woods.

thanks! and yes, we do, lol.

i've had (way too many) lists on amazon for quite some time now. and with how many shows and youtube videos i've watched and how much i talk about it, most people i talk to think i'm some sort of pro. but i have to quickly point out that i am NOT a pro, by any stretch of any imagination. i am a huge believer in being over-prepared for situations which may never happen (but hey, isn't that why some of us do what we do?)

and from those lists, i'm slowly getting my stuff together. like the blackbird sk-5, i had that knife on my amazon list for almost a year when the price finally dropped to where i couldn't ignore it.

one of the most-wanted items on my list is that mmss. ever since i saw one in a youtube video, i wanted one. and i checked my local army/navy surplus store and they usually keep a few in stock. they're not really cheap, but totally worth the price from what i can tell. they're bulky, but they come with their own stuff sack to keep it contained.
